Somewhere, Nick Lachey is probably cringing.
"The show would just follow her around in her day," one of the sources told the Daily News. "She really wants to be famous."
The reasoning behind Lachey's presumable lack of enthusiasm about Minnillo landing her own reality series stems from the aforementioned Newlyweds reality series, which aired on MTV and documented almost the entire three-year marriage of Lachey and his ex-wife Jessica Simpson -- from their October 2002 wedding to their December 2005 divorce. "It was among the dumber ideas I think I've ever seen executed in history," Lachey told David Letterman during an October 2006 interview on Late Night with David Letterman. "For a while we actually enjoyed doing the show [but] it just got to a place where it was so invasive, it became a problem." Lachey and Minnillo began dating following a June 2006 meeting at Toronto's MuchMusic Video Awards -- and while they've recently moved in together and he's reportedly asked her father if it would be okay to pop the question, the 33-year-old former boy-band member and 26-year-old Entertainment Tonight correspondent have yet to announce if they are engaged. When asked about her "upcoming project" Minnillo declined comment, according to the Daily News, which added her reported reality television show would not be an MTV project.
