More to be revealed about ABC's 'Lost' characters

A native Louisianan sometimes feels frustration playing the part of a spoiled rich kid stranded on a remote island in ABC's new hit drama, "Lost."

Ian Somerhalder's character in the Wednesday-night show is Boone, one of the survivors of a plane crash on a tropical island.

"Do you know how hard it is to stand around and have everybody say, 'Do this, do this,' when I know, Ian knows, that's what you do," Somerhalder told Zap2it.com. "Basically there's an arc for Boone. Very soon, there's a big change."

That change comes with the help of John Locke, played by Terry O'Quinn, who was a paraplegic when he boarded the plane but somehow was able to walk after the crash to become a philosophizing hunter with the same name as the British philosopher of the Enlightenment.

"Locke takes Boone under his wing," O'Quinn says. "They start an adventure together that the others don't know about."

In previous episodes, character's backgrounds have unfolded in flashbacks and the Jan. 12 show reveals "the shocking truth" about Boone and his sister Shannon, played by Maggie Grace, a press release says.
