U.S. singer and actress Kristin Chenoweth is to headline a concert in New York to benefit the 3 Angels Memorial Fund, organizers said.

"Kristin Chenoweth, This One's Personal: A Concert to Stop ACD" is to take place Saturday at Manhattan's Helen Mills Theatre.

The 3 Angels fund was established by Hollywood actress NiCole Robinson and her husband, Craig Snyder, who late last year lost their infant son, Lincoln Snyder, to Alveolar Capillary Dysplasia.

Craig and his previous wife also lost two children to ACD, described as a rare genetic lung disease.

Chenoweth and Robinson became friends while working together on TV's "The West Wing."

"I was extremely humbled when NiCole asked me if I would be willing to perform a special concert to support the 3 Angels Fund," Chenoweth said in a statement. "Losing a child is a heartbreaking experience for any family. Dealing with the loss of three is inconceivable. The ACD disease needs to be talked about, studied and introduced to doctors as a means of them identifying specific cases and working towards treatment and prevention."

Former "West Wing" co-stars Bradley Whitford, Mary McCormack and Janel Moloney also plan to attend the event.
