Welsh TV designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen formed the Purple Party to run for Parliament, saying he's fed up with career politicians.

The 39-year-old former "Changing Rooms" presenter said he is serious about his ideas although he has two more weeks to decide if he'll run in the next general election, Western Mail reported.

Llewelyn-Bowen's Purple Policy platform includes everyday social issues which he says career politicians will not deal with.

"It is about taking some of the good things from the past and fitting them into a modern context," Llewelyn-Bowen said. "I feel very strongly that we are all clever, diverse, eccentric and stimulating and we should be praising that."

A BBC documentary team has been following his progress as he campaigns among his Greenwich constituents, the newspaper reported.
