Chad Lowe joins the sixth season cast of Fox's '24' drama

Emmy Award-winning actor Chad Lowe has become the latest to jump aboard Fox TV's weekly thriller, "24."

Lowe, brother of Rob and 1993 Emmy winner for his portrayal of Jesse on "Life Goes On," will join "24" as smooth politician Reed Pollock, CBS reported on its Showbuzz Web site Wednesday.

Star Kiefer Sutherland will be surrounded by an impressive supporting cast when the new season of "24" bows Jan. 14.

Other recent additions to Season 6 include Peter MacNicol, Regina King and James Cromwell.

Season 5 ended 20 months ago with Sutherland's Jack Bauer in the brutal hands of Chinese agents.
