Former The Biggest Loser second-season finalists Matt Hoover and Suzy Preston have some big news.

Hoover, The Biggest Loser 2's winner, and Preston, another of the reality weight-loss competition's second-season finalists, welcomed their first child,  In Touch Weekly reported last week.  Rex Timothy Hoover was born Saturday, June 23 weighing 6 pounds, 13-and-a-half ounces and measuring 18-inches long.

"He came a little earlier than expected," Preston told In Touch.  "But he's strong and healthy.  He's the best little boy ever."

Hoover and Preston met as contestants on The Biggest Loser's second installment in 2005, which Hoover won when he lost a total of 157 pounds and had a finale weigh-in weight of 182 pounds.  The couple began dating shortly after leaving The Biggest Loser ranch and Hoover proposed to Preston during a March 2006 broadcast of NBC's Today show.  They were married off-air in a small beach-side ceremony conducted in Jamaica on September 19, 2006.

Only six weeks later, Preston and Hoover revealed they were expecting their first child together.  While Preston lost 95 pounds while competing on The Biggest Loser 2 and finished third, she told In Touch the weight quickly came back with the pregnancy.

"Four months before I got pregnant, I was in the best shape ever," said Preston in the July 2 issue of In Touch.  "I'd got all the excess skin removed and was feeling the best I ever had."

Preston added she eventually had to "stop looking at the scale" due to the anxiety caused by putting back on the pounds she shed while competing on The Biggest Loser.

"This pregnancy thing is overrated," she told In Touch.  "But I am excited about being a mom."

Already the proud owner of a jogging stroller, Preston told In Touch she plans on running five miles a day with Rex Timothy, who arrived two weeks early and had an estimated due date of July 6.
