Lauren Jones is a 24-year-old Jackson, MI-native and former Miss New York who has modeling and acting credentials that range from appearances in Seventeen magazine to the soap opera Guiding Light, and she has also worked as one of World Wrestling Entertainments' "divas" as well as a "Barker Beauty" on The Price is Right.  However in Anchorwoman, Jones finds herself behind the news desk and staring into the TelePrompTer as the newest anchor for CBS affiliate KYTX-TV Channel 19 in Tyler, TX, the "Rose Capital of America" situated in the eastern part of The Lone Star State.

She was recently employed by KYTX owner Phil Hurley, who's hoping the buxom blonde can help boost the ratings of his middle-market news station by making her the anchor of the 5PM newscast.  Jones made her KYTX debut on June 11, much to the chagrin of reigning anchor Annaisa Petraglia; news director Dan Delgado; and hard-nosed reporter Michelle Reese, who all feel Jones is either lowering journalistic standards or mooching off their air time.

Anchorwoman will chronicle Jones' journey as she tries to prove to everyone at the station -- including herself -- that she's more than just a pretty face and can cut in the world of broadcast journalism.

Anchorwoman is produced by Fox 21 and The G Group, with creator Brian Gadinsky serving as executive producer.
