ABC News is airing an expose of how fame and riches have torn apart the family of teen idols Nick and Aaron Carter.

The Friday night "20/20" report will cover the Carters' early years when parents Bob and Jane lived with their children in a van, to their lives and relationships on a 17-acre compound in the Florida Keys, the network said.
Both Nick, of the Backstreet Boys, and Aaron, whose career took off when he opened for the group in Germany, were managed by their mother and earned fortunes. Today, however, they are estranged from her.
"I think, mainly, what we're saying now is that we were starved for that attention, of a motherly figure," Nick says on the broadcast.
By 2003, the Carter's sisters had become jealous of their mother's attention to the boys and Jane and Bob Carter had separated. A divorce followed.
Jane tells "20/20" she is estranged from four of her five children, but still close with 18-year-old Leslie Carter, who has also written and recorded songs and is managed by her mother.
