The Complex - Episode 6 Summary

'I Hate Barney/Rose' By volsfan

We start the show with Dave and Ana celebrating their first place finish for their second bathroom. Dave and Ana get $3,000 ($1,000 from each of the three remaining teams) and a night in a spa! Dave tells Ana that he is glad she never settles and that is why she is with him because he is the F’ing best!

NOTE TO THE GREAT ONE (Not a reference to The Rock): The best at what? The best at making Ana feel like an idiot? The best at making Ana cry at the drop of a hat? The best at making Ana decide she needs a vacation…ALONE? The best at making Ana feel that your relationship is over? Are you beginning see the picture?

I.HATE.BARNEY/ROSE

The last room to be renovated is the kitchen and they have 6 days to complete. Dave and Ana go to collect their $1,000 from each team. Steve/Nicole give them $500 cash and a gift card worth $500. Scotty/Sam gives them a gift card worth $1,000. Barney/Rose complains (surprise!) that they have very little money left! They say that they have $459. So, Rose says that they can have $400 and anything in the apartment. Dave/Ana agree on a shelving unit and a vase. In a confessional Rose says that as she was handing over the money, she knew she wasn’t getting a dinning room table.

NOTE TO CHEAPSCATE: Where do you shop to get a dinning room table and chairs for $400…Big Lots? Oh wait, the $400 table will go great with the plastic counter tops in the bathroom!

Scotty/Sam go to Sears and see Steve/Nicole. Steve asks them how much money they are going to spend. Sam says it is time to leave! They don’t want Steve/Nicole to know what they are buying!

Dave and Ana are shown discussing what they are going to do with their kitchen. Dave says with the extra money they have, they are going to hire professionals to install cabinets, lay the floor and put in lighting. Then, Dave comes up with his greatest idea since making Ana cry while shopping last week! Dave tells Ana they are going to cut a window in the wall that divides the kitchen from the living room! The extra work will separate them from the others!

NOTE TO EINSTEIN: Stick to simple and easy! The window will not add benefit to the apartment. Listen to Ana…she is better than you at this!

Steve and Nicole are discussing what to do in their kitchen. Steve decides to call Brad and Lew for their help! Steve says they (Brad and Lew) knew how to WOW the judges. They call the boys and they agree to come back and help them build a custom built table and bench that will go half way round the table. They are going to pay the boys $1,200 to do it! Brad and Lew tell Steve and Nicole to keep it a secret because they want to see the other’s faces!

I want to add that I think this is one of the best decisions of any of the couples since the beginning of the competition! Brad and Lew would jump at the chance to take a dig at Barney/Rose and Dave/Ana and the boys won first place 3 out of four weeks they competed!

Scotty/Sam are shown getting into an argument! Scotty tells Sam that she sits there and then moves over there to sit! Sam says that she was so tired that she fell asleep with wood in her hands!

NOTE TO THE MISUNDERSTOOD: Sam, honey, having wood in your hands when you feel is just too much info for me! Please keep this info to yourself from now on…I don’t think Scotty appreciates this!

Dave and Ana’s hired help for the flooring arrives and removes the old flooring. The guys say that they have to take the trash to their facility and they will return. The guys do not return and after a few hours Ana calls the company. An argument ensues and ends with Dave canceling the company doing the job. Dave tells Ana that he can do it himself in 3 hours.

NOTE TO SPEEDY GONZALES: WTF? If you can lay those tiles in 3 hours, you need to go into business for yourself! I think you are biting off more than you can chew!

Steve and Nicole get their cabinets installed but have a couple of plugs to find that are hidden from the cabinets. Nicole says she can’t watch and goes to paint.
