Asked how people react to her decision, the former supermodel, talk-show host and "Top Model" star told CBS News: "I get mixed reactions. There are little facial expressions. ... The chin goes back, like, 'Really?'"

"I'm, like, 'Yeah, I'm going.' How do I react to that? I kind of take a pause and kind of analyze what this is. And a lot of it is just shock."

Banks, 37, said she enrolled in Harvard's Owner/President Management Program so she could learn the best strategies for handling her media company, Bankable Productions, and charitable work.

The business management program requires students spend three weeks on campus a year for three years, CBS News noted.

"In order for my company to grow and be the best, and to reach these women, and to serve them, I needed the best. So I went to the best," Banks said.
