ABC has announced The Bachelor's eighteenth season starring Galavis, a 32-year-old Venezuelan former pro soccer player from Miami, FL, will premiere on Monday, January 6 at 8PM ET/PT.

In addition, the network has revealed the second season of The Taste, which will expand to two-hour broadcasts, will debut on Thursday, January 2 at 8PM ET/PT.

The Bachelor's upcoming season will feature Galavis looking for a wife and stepmother to his daughter Camila with the intentions of eventually having more children. He previously competed for Desiree Hartsock on The Bachelorette's ninth edition, and although he was eliminated fairly early on in the competition, he was clearly a fan-favorite.

"With his Spanish accent, good looks, salsa moves and undying devotion for his daughter... Juan Pablo is ready and hopeful that he'll find love and the missing puzzle piece to fulfill his family," according to ABC.

The Bachelor's eighteenth season began production in September. Galavis was announced as the next Bachelor in early August.

As for the second season of The Taste, the reality cooking competition will feature 16 culinary competitors, who range from home cooks to professional chefs, creating dishes that will be judged by four "masters of the food world" on a blind taste.

Chef Anthony Bourdain, British food star Nigella Lawson, expert chef and author Ludo Lefebvre, and chef and restaurateur Marcus Samuelsson will each serve as a mentor and coach a team of four competing pro and amateur cooks. Each week, the groups will face team and individual challenges with a variety of culinary themes through several elimination rounds.

At the end of each episode, the mentors will have to judge the contestants' dishes on taste alone without knowledge of who executed the food being sampled, what the dish actually is, or how it was prepared. The judges will not be aware of whom they choose to send home.

ABC announced in May it was renewing The Taste for another season.

The Bachelor, hosted by Chris Harrison, is produced by Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television and executive produced by Mike Fleiss and Martin Hilton.

The Taste is produced by Kinetic Content. Chris Coelen, Matilda Zoltowski, Emma Conway, Anthony Bourdain, Nigella Lawson, and Brian Smith serve as executive producers.
