Simon Cowell reportedly wants Carmen Electra to become a new judge on America's Got Talent.

"He wanted to add her last year [as a fourth judge] but the network said, 'No,'" a source told The New York Post.

Cowell has reportedly been spotted out with the model, actress and former reality TV star -- who once filled in for judge Amanda Holden on Britain's Got Talent but got booed by the audience -- in Los Angeles in recent weeks, which has sparked rumors the couple may be dating.

Cowell told The Post late last year he planned to have "somebody younger" sit on the judging panel alongside Sharon Osbourne, Howard Stern and Howie Mandel for the show's previous seventh-season, adding he was looking for, "A girl -- someone who will not be afraid of Sharon and Howard and fight for a different type of act than they would."

However, if Electra joins the upcoming eighth season of America's Got Talent, she would likely now be replacing Osbourne, who confirmed she was quitting the show in early August after NBC allegedly discriminated against her son Jack Osbourne. NBC later denied Sharon's claims.

As for Stern and Mandel, it's uncertain whether they will return to the show for another season.

"Howard very much wants to come back," the source said. "But he is waiting to see who else is going to be on the panel."

Representatives for Electra and America's Got Talent reportedly declined comment on the matter.
