Shayne, who was expecting her second child with husband Nik Richie, collapsed in her Orange County, CA home from internal bleeding around her uterus and was taken to the hospital, where doctors performed an operation that resulted in a miscarriage, People reported.

"We are so grateful that my daughter, Shayne Lamas-Richie, is conscious and stable. She is not in a coma, however she did miscarry the child she was carrying," Shayne's father Lorenzo Lamas told People on Monday.

"We are so very grateful to the hospital personnel and the doctors who saved her life last night. Shayne is aware of her condition and that her family and her husband are here with her and love her so much. She will be remaining in the hospital until her doctors determine that she can be released."

The 28-year-old former Leave it to Lamas star and The Bachelor: London Calling bachelorette was reportedly 16 weeks into her pregnancy.

Nik, whose real name is Hooman Karamian, alluded to the tragic incident in a Monday post on his TheDirty.com website.

"I'm going to take some personal days off from the blogging world. Unfortunate things happen to good people," he wrote. "I'm not the best person in the world, but I love my wife and my family. Shayne is my good person. She is my support and my smile. I found you and I never want to let you go. We will overcome."

Shayne and Nik already have a two-year-old daughter together named Press Dahl Lamas-Richie whom they welcomed in November 2011. Shayne announced her first pregnancy in April 2011.

Shayne wed Nik in a quickie Las Vegas wedding in April 2010 just days after they met.

Shayne was previously engaged to the former The Bachelor: London Calling star Matt Grant after accepting his final rose and a marriage proposal during the show's pre-taped May 2008 finale. However, the couple split two months later after a report that Shayne had cheated on Matt -- in Vegas, ironically -- surfaced.
