Battleground Earth will follow Lee and Ludacris as they travel across America and enlist the help of their friends, celebrity guests, and anyone else willing to lend a hand while competing in various challenges designed to highlight environmentally friendly issues.

Some of the challenges Lee and Ludacris will tackle will include transforming fast-food grease into eco-friendly fuel for their bio-diesel tour bus and attempting to break the Guinness World Record for "Largest Shower" in an effort to promote water conservation.

Battleground Earth will culminate at Los Angeles' Greek Theater with a "green carpet benefit concert," with the show's two stars and their famous friends supporting the renewal of Griffith Park, which was devastated by recent wildfires in the area.

Lee's crew will be Diggity Dave, Johnny Colt and Nina Bergman while Ludacris will recruit Willie Box, Sesean Bridges and Tony "4 Ize" Hayes III.

Several celebrity guests will also aid both crews, including Making the Band star Sean "Diddy" Combs, Gene Simmons Family Jewels patriarch and former The Celebrity Apprentice candidate Gene Simmons, Jane Fonda and Pamela Anderson.

In addition, each Battleground Earth episode will feature "Pass it On" segments, which will provide eco tips to viewers by celebrities such as Magic Johnson, Wayne Brady, Travis Tritt and Criss Angel.

Planet Green -- a new cable network Discovery Communications launched last month -- ordered Battleground Earth in April.  The 10-episode series is being produced for Planet Green by the Greif Company.
