Nikki Ferrell has lashed out at The Bachelor fans who are dumping on the show's controversial star Juan Pablo Galavis and being critical of her decision to stand by her man.

"Being in the public eye does NOT give you the right to say what you want to me. Your words hurt no matter what. Be ashamed of yourselves," Ferrell tweeted Monday night after The Bachelor's eighteenth-season finale aired.

Although Ferrell told Galavis in October she's madly in love with him, almost six months later, Galavis has yet to say those meaningful words back. Ferrell is now being slammed after making it clear during After the Final Rose she intends to keep dating Galavis despite not being engaged or loved in return.

Ferrell's tweet didn't seem to put a stop to all the negative posts out there in the social media world.

"@Nikki_Ferrell you need some self-esteem! You have done such a disservice to young women all over this country. #shameful," a fan tweeted.

"@Nikki_Ferrell You should be ashamed of yourself. You're perfect for a cheating politician. Just sit there nodding and proclaiming your love," a second fan wrote.

"You're in love with a dude who can't say he's in love with you too... dang @Nikki_Ferrell but remember isssss okkkaaayyyy," tweeted a third fan.

"Oh @Nikki_Ferrell. Do better, honey. There is someone better for U. I can imagine ur father would want a man brave enough 2 profess his love," wrote another person.

However, some fans and fellow eighteenth-season The Bachelor bachelorettes voiced support for Ferrell and her new relationship.

Kelly Travis, for example, tweeted, "I love you. #TeamNikki," in response to Ferrell's emotional post.

Galavis, a 32-year-old former pro soccer player, brutally dumped bachelorette Clare Crawley during last night's finale broadcast after clearly leading her on, hooking up with her in the fantasy suite, and then offending her by making an inappropriate sexual remark when cameras briefly weren't around them.

Afterward, Galavis offered Ferrell, a 26-year-old pediatric nurse from Kansas City, MO, his final rose. He simply told his winning bachelorette, "I like you a lot," and then jokingly asked her not to get cranky because it was so hot outside.
