"MTV is giving the passionate fans of The Hills what they deserve -- an extended season to catch up on cast relationships and finally see Lauren realize a long-awaited dream," said Tony DiSanto, MTV's executive vice president of series development and programming. "The success of the series, both on air and online, has been tremendous and as it continues to grow, we look forward to taking this season into the new year."

The eight additional episodes will pick-up right where the finale left off, following Conrad and The Hills co-star Whitney Port as they travel to Paris to work for Teen Vogue at the Crillon Ball, an annual international debutante gala which occurred on November 24.

In addition, the added episodes will also "reveal the latest" on the status of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt's relationship.

Last night's finale broadcast concluded with Montag moving out of her apartment with Pratt after the two constantly argued about plans for their wedding.  Montag also arrived a The Hills' live after party broadcast without her engagement ring from Pratt.
