Lauren "L.C." Conrad couldn't pass on the chance to take a business trip to Paris while Heidi Montag moved-out of her pad with Spencer Pratt and threw their wedding engagement into question during last night's third-season finale broadcast of The Hills on MTV.

During The Hills first-season finale, Conrad was offered the chance to intern in Paris for Teen Vogue.  However she turned it down to be with ex-beau and fellow former Laguna Beach star Jason Wahler and instead chose to continue her internship at the magazine's west-coast office.

When the opportunity to work on a Paris fashion show was presented to Conrad by Teen Vogue west-coast editor Lisa Love during last night's finale broadcast, she accepted.

"Who's going to take you to the airport?" Love asked Conrad before suggesting she travel with The Hills co-star Whitney Port, who also works for Teen Vogue and will be accompanying Conrad to Paris. "Go with Whitney.  She'll make sure you get on the plane."

"Do you think I wouldn't get on the plane this time?" asked Conrad.

"I don't know," answered Love.  "Last time you didn't go.  Have you learned your lesson?"

"Yes," Conrad replied.

"I ran away from home when I was 15 to go to Paris, and it changed my life," Love told Conrad.  "Hopefully it will change your life too... I think it will be an incredibly inspiring trip for you."

After saying goodbye to her roommate Audrina Patridge, Conrad shared an embrace and a kiss with Brody Jenner before leaving for the airport.  Jenner didn't seem too pleased to see Conrad go, and she assured him she'll be back "really quick."

The finale episode concluded with Conrad and Port hopping on a plane to Paris, while Montag was driving back to her family's home in Colorado after moving out from her place with Pratt.

Montag and Pratt had been bickering with each other in the episodes leading up to the finale, with most of their arguments centered around planning for their wedding.  After he had walked out on her the previous night without returning or even offering a call, he returned to their apartment while she was packing.

"Do you need space?" asked Pratt.

"Yeah... and I'm going to give you some space," answered Montag.

"I don't need space," he replied.

"I didn't need space either, but now I do," she told him.  "You can figure out what you want, I'll figure out what I want..."

"I know what I want," Pratt told her.

"I just don't know what else to do," she answered before he asked when she was coming back.  Montag only answered with, "I need to go home."

"So I assume the wedding isn't going to happen anytime soon?" he asked.

"It's not working.  I need some space," she told Pratt, who obliged by leaving the apartment.

Montag arrived at The Hills finale live after-party in Los Angeles sans Pratt, and also wasn't wearing the engagement ring he gave her.

"The thing that I don't know that's real or not is Heidi and Spencer's relationship," Montag's former co-worker Elodie Otto told People at the after party.  "To me they don't really look in love, so we'll see."

The Hills aficionados won't have to wait too long to find out what happens with Conrad's trip to Paris, her relationship with Jenner, or Montag and Pratt's spat.  Conrad revealed during the after party that The Hills third season technically isn't over, as eight additional episodes are scheduled to air on MTV early next year.
