Bravo has announced that Veronica Webb will serve as Tim Gunn's co-host on the fashion guru's Tim Gunn's Guide to Style, a new reality series that will feature the Project Runway star as he helps hapless fashion dilemmas transform into stylish individuals.

While Gunn seems fully capable of hosting his own show, Radar Magazine reported last week that "a source who auditioned for the job" told them that Webb --a model, actress and writer -- was being brought onboard because the show's producers felt Gunn "was a bit 'too highbrow' for viewers, and they needed a 'more down-to-earth and fun' female presence to balance him out."  Frances Berwick, Bravo's executive vice president of production and programming, seemed to corroborate that report in the network's announcement of Webb's hiring.

"We think Veronica will make the perfect complement to Tim - she'll add a little sass to his class," said Berwick. "She not only brings extensive fashion expertise to the series, but she will be someone for our makeover subjects to lean on, creating a fun, comfortable, yet educational experience that our viewers can learn from."

Webb has graced the covers of Vogue, Essence and Elle magazines and appeared on the runway for Victoria's Secret and Chanel.  She has also worked as a journalist and essayist in the world of fashion.  As an actress, she has appeared in such films as Malcolm X and such television shows as Just Shoot Me.

During each one-hour episode of the previously announced series -- which is currently casting -- Gunn will use his decades of fashion design experience to help ordinary people realize their true style potential.  The series is based on Gunn's new "Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality, Taste & Style" book, which he co-wrote with writer Kate Moloney and is scheduled to be published in May 2007 by Abrams Image.
