Married at First Sight star Emily has revealed the truth about what she told her friends behind Brennan's back prior to the newlyweds' housewarming party.

Emily and Brennan's marriage got off to a great start until Brennan apparently realized at the end of his honeymoon that he felt no spark with his wife and wasn't really attracted to her.

Brennan decided to put on a good face and move in with Emily to hopefully push their relationship in the right direction, but a fight broke out between Brennan and Emily's friends, Kiara and Alex, at the couple's housewarming party.

During the December 13 episode of Married at First Sight: Afterparty, Emily watched back a Season 17 clip of her two best friends having a chat with Brennan outside of her wig-themed party.

"You say you're more giving than you receive, but did you help [Emily] move?" Kiara asks Brennan.

"If this was real life, I should 100 percent help her move," Brennan responds.

"This is real life!" Alex interjects. "Dude, I don't want to call you out, but also her taking everything out of the oven and preparing it..."

"Is it that that's making you feel you have to [question] my integrity of why I'm doing the show?" Brennan asks the girls.

"No," Kiara says, "but you've been made it miserable to film... You have!"

"That's what she told you?" Brennan asks.

The women then accuse Brennan of getting defensive and angry, and they tell him to relax.

"I've been with you guys for an hour and you guys are coming at me like it's nobody's business," Brennan vents.

On Afterparty, host Keshia Knight Pulliam pointed out how Emily must have complained or told her girlfriends something about Brennan.

"But I really, I truly -- when Alex said I didn't talk to her, I didn't talk to Alex," Emily said.

Keshia, however, pointed out how the friends seemed to know personal things about the couple or have some knowledge about their marriage.

"This isn't a judgment, but I'm seeing both sides of the coin... Not saying Brennan was right in how he handled it, but I also understand how he could've felt a little attacked," Keshia said. "Because they came in pretty hot, let's just be honest."

Emily agreed, "Yeah. I gave her the high-level summary, like, 'Things were great. Things feel a little off [now]. It's just hard and I feel like I'm carrying the conversation. He hates filming.'"

Emily added, "And I was like, 'I don't understand how he's saying he's not attracted to me. I don't get that. We talked about that."

Emily insisted that conversation just suddenly "came back" to her, but she clarified, "I really didn't tell [my friends] the ins and outs of everything."

Emily shared how her "goal" was to listen to her friends' opinions.

"I had no expectations that [confrontation with Brennan] would happen," Emily noted.

Married at First Sight star Clare, who also joined Emily on Afterparty, explained how Brennan seemed to laugh at her pain. Clare was referring to how Emily had removed food from the oven with one hand because her other hand was injured.

"He should've been offering to help," Clare said.

Fellow Married at First Sight star Lauren also appeared on Afterparty and said she could see Brennan's side "minutely" that he felt attacked.

"But I think that immediately put him on the defense, but the things that he said and the ways that he acted were 100 percent out of order," Lauren shared.

When asked what was keeping her in the marriage at this point, Emily said she really wanted to be married.

"I know, like, I'm holding on to what I know we had in the beginning," Emily announced.

On Married at First Sight's December 14 episode, Emily was shown telling her friend Sophie of Brennan, "It seemed like communication was a big issue for him. He has trouble opening up in general. It kept feeling like I was carrying the conversation, and he doesn't really open up on-camera."

Emily explained how Brennan had signed up for this experiment and so she expected him to do better and try a little harder.

At the end of the party, Brennan admitted to Emily that his conversation with her friends didn't go well.

Brennan said her friends had come at him unfairly and attacked his character and so he had to stand up for himself. Emily said she felt bad about the situation, especially since her friends are a reflection of who she is.

Emily explained how her friends just cared about her a lot and they shouldn't have behaved that way. Emily apologized on their behalf, but Brennan said she had nothing to apologize for.

"Emily was very supportive, and I give her a lot of credit for how she's acted in this type of moment. I appreciated her having my back in that situation," Brennan told the cameras.
