Married at First Sight star Dave Flaherty and his wife Amber Martorana have come a long way since the start of Season 7, and Dave is apparently very relieved.

During the latest Married at First Sight: Unfiltered episode hosted by Season 1 MAFS star Jamie Otis, Dave opened up about how his marriage improved once Amber was able to release some of her insecurities.

"Gosh, it's crazy to think about, that we've seen each other every day and every night since we got married," Dave said.

"I feel like you guys are really turning a corner," Jamie noted.

"We're in a great place right now, yeah," Dave replied.

"We're in a really good, smooth patch of our relationship. It's the easiest it's been, and it's great. We really went through a lot to get there, so that makes it probably a little bit better."

So far on Season 7 of Married at First Sight, Amber clearly feels she cares more for Dave than he cares about her in return.

Amber has let insecurity shine through on numerous occasions by accusing Dave of preferring a woman with brown hair or not being very physically attracted to her. She worries Dave was disappointed to be matched with her and often comments how she's "not good enough" for him.

But on Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, Jamie played back footage from a recent episode in which Amber admitted she finally feels secure in her relationship.

"It takes a lot of the pressure off our marriage, for sure," Dave said in reference to Amber's feeling of being secure.

"It's tough because I felt like leading up to this point, I kind of had to walk on eggshells, and I think when I was doing that, I often said the wrong thing -- not even meaning to. I was trying so hard to say the right thing that it sort of led to saying the wrong thing more often than not."

Dave added, "So I think having some of that pressure off for me is really helpful."

When Jamie asked Dave if he's feeling secure in the relationship, he replied, "Yeah, I think right now, I feel great."

"I think we're really on the same page and are able to have these conversations without turning into fights and we're able to spend quality time together that's not having to rehash a fight, you know?" he said. "We're in a much better place, so I definitely feel better."

Dave also apparently appreciates the fact Amber is "quirky" and "funny." Fans witnessed this side of Amber's personality when she talked about living in a retirement community with her cool friends at age 55, drinking cocktails by the pool and relaxing.

"I do think she's only half serious with a lot of this stuff. So yeah, I enjoy it and I like giving her a hard time," Dave noted.

Jamie then asked Dave if he feels a weight has been lifted off his shoulders now that he can just laugh and joke around with his wife sans tension.

"I think at this point in our relationship, it's the best it's ever been," Dave said.

"But there's still a little bit of that feeling that danger is lurking, if I'm being honest. I think we're doing a good job of avoiding it and we're doing a good job of staying positive, but it's still -- I would say we're not completely in the clear, but we're in a much better place."

In addition to Dave and Amber, Season 7 of Married at First Sight on Lifetime also stars Bobby Dodd and Danielle Bergman as well as Tristan Thompson and Mia Bally.
