Brandi and Quinton were matched by Married at First Sight experts for the show's fourth season two years ago, however, the pair did not end up getting married and participating in the season because Quinton's job unexpectedly relocated him to outside of Miami, FL, where the season was filmed.

"We were so disappointed because we truly believed in the potential of Quinton and Brandi as a match," former Married at First Sight expert, Rachel DeAlto, told People.

But that didn't stop Brandi and Quinton from finding lasting love with each other. After Married at First Sight's Season 4 matchmaking special which showed their matching aired in 2016, Quinton took the initiative and tracked Brandi down on social media and asked her to meet up.

"What started out as just a follow-up to the show, turned to friendship. Our friendship blossomed into a beautiful relationship that has now bore fruit to a fiance. I couldn't imagine going through all this again unless I knew without a doubt that it would be Brandi," Quinton told People.

Quinton, a 29-year-old salesman, and Brandi, a 26-year-old professional YouTube personality, got engaged at a restaurant in Atlanta, GA, called Saltyard on August 4, which was the exact date Quinton had reached out to Brandi on Facebook back in 2016.

Brandi and Quinton's family and friends were already waiting for the couple at the restaurant when they arrived, making for a wonderful and emotional surprise for the bride-to-be.

Brandi seemed to assume she'd just be celebrating the anniversary of her first interaction with her boyfriend.

After listening to a romantic song performed by a live singer in the room, Quinton began his speech as documented in a video taped by People.

"You always said everything happens for a reason, that's why we're here today. Thank you so very much for everything these past two years. There's not a day I can imagine without speaking to you, without seeing you," Quinton began, as Brandi appeared to hold back tears.

"It's been over 20,000 miles traveling and you getting over your fear flying. We've been everywhere from Chicago to Waycross to Miami to Dallas and everything in between. I love our communication, our honesty and just everything that makes up this relationship... So with that being said, Brandi, will you marry me?"

Brandi quickly nodded her head yes but appeared too overwhelmed to verbally respond. Brandi then kissed her fiance and everyone cheered.

"These past eight or so months have been a test of determination, creativity, and angst. I've never planned anything of this magnitude. Coordinating a myriad of schedules, budget, and conquering life's daily obstacles with the goal of an August surprise engagement," Quinton told the magazine.

"[Brandi is] a gorgeous, God fearing black woman that pushes herself, and us, to strive for greatness day in and day out. We may not have been married at first sight, but I can't deny that it wasn't love at first sight."

Brandi previously said Quinton's pursuit of a relationship with her solidified her faith in the Married at First Sight experiment.

"I'm so grateful to the experts and to the entire MAFS community for believing in us and constantly rooting for love," Brandi told People in September 2016.
