Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, known for his fiery commentary to chefs-in-training, can watch his mentor, Marco Pierre White, mold chefs on a British show.

Marco Pierre White is taking over as the presenter of the ITV show, "Hell's Kitchen," and said his friendship with his one-time student has become strained recently, The Independent said Thursday.

"If someone doesn't enrich my life, I don't want them to be part of my life. He has nothing to contribute to it," White said.

As the host of "Hell's Kitchen," White will put 10 celebrities from different walks of life through their paces in his kitchen.

Ramsay, who presented the first series of "Hell's Kitchen" in Britain and now hosts "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares" on Britain's Channel 4, learned his trade with White.

Ramsay also hosts "Hell's Kitchen" in the United States, in which would-be chefs compete.
