Zap2It.com reports that MTV has announced that Sean "P. Diddy" Combs will be featured in the network's reality show, 'Making the Band II.' Production of the series will begin later this month in New York City. The half-hour show will document the creation of a mainstream hip hop/R&B group, starting with the audition process working up to a record deal, all under the guidance of P. Diddy himself.

Nationwide auditions will be held to find the twenty aspiring musicians chosen to perform in front of P. Diddy. Like his "American Idol" counterpart, Simon Cowell, P. Diddy will not only evaluate the contestant's performance skills, but he will also help them form a band and land a record deal.

'Making the Band II.' will run for 10 episodes on MTV and will premiere on Saturday, October 12 at 9:00 PM ET/PT.
