Legend of Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto is teasing the live-action film adaptation of the 1986 video game, which is now in production.
"This is Miyamoto. We have officially begun filming the live-action movie adaptation of The Legend of Zelda in the magnificent great outdoors, together with Bo Bragason, who plays Zelda, and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, who plays link," he wrote.
He also shared photographs of the duo in costume. The video game follows the warrior and princess as they fend off Ganondorf and protect Hyrule.
"The filming is progressing smoothly, so I would appreciate it if you could quietly watch over us. The theatrical release is scheduled for May 7, 2027," he continued. "Please wait just a little longer."
Initially, the film had been set for a March release the same year.Wes Ball will direct.
