"When does it stop? RIP Jamie Sangouthai," Odom's estranged wife Khloe Kardashian tweeted Sunday along with crying and broken-heart emoticons.

The 30-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians star later posted a photo on Instagram of a woman weeping, writing, "Life doesn't get easier but I promise you that life will make you stronger."

Authorities believe Sangouthai passed away after overdosing on heroin, TMZ reported. Sangouthai allegedly died at a Los Angeles hospital, where he had been rushed on Sunday due to an emergency.

Sangouthai had been best buddies with Odom, 35, since high school and served as one of the groomsmen for his wedding to Kardashian in September 2009. Sangouthai had also appeared on Kardashian and Odom's former spinoff Khloe & Lamar.

"Lamar is beside himself. This is the worst tragedy," a source told Us Weekly. "They were best friends, like brothers. Lamar is going to take this really hard."

Kardashian's closest friend, Malika Haqq, also shared an old picture of herself posing with Sangouthai, Odom and Kardashian as they were fooling around.

"Thru good and bad times life shows us every spirit matters and leaves a print on the hearts of others after they have passed... RIP Jamie Sangouthai #GodHelpUsAll," Haqq wrote on Twitter.

According to TMZ, Kardashian and other people close to Odom feared Sangouthai had been fueling Odom's own issues with drugs.

Reports Odom had a serious two-year drug problem that strained his marriage to Kardashian first surfaced in August 2013 and followed prior claims he had repeatedly cheated on the reality star, prompting Kardashian to file for divorce in December of that year.

Odom had been at the center of controversy for months for DUI charge, allegedly binging on crack cocaine and being in and out of rehab at the time.

Kardashian's divorce filing was reportedly dismissed in April due to her inactivity and failure to submit all necessary paperwork on time.
