The former Kate Plus 8 star filed a lawsuit on Monday accusing Jon of stealing her hard drive and hacking into her computer and phone for content he shared with the book's author, the Associated Press reported.

The lawsuit reportedly accuses Jon of wiretapping, identity theft and invasion of privacy for which Kate is seeking an unspecified amount in damages.

"Jon violated a federal anti-hacking statute in order to publish salacious, scandalous and defamatory information about Kate," Kate's lawyer A. Jordan Rushie told the AP. "It's damaged her reputation."

Jon reportedly hacked into Kate's bank accounts and email among other private information.

Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World was an e-book available for online purchase in 2012. Jon's business partner and tabloid writer Robert Hoffman wrote the book, which was pulled two days after its publication because the material had been illegally obtained, according to the lawsuit.

Hoffman was also reportedly named a defendant in the case.

TLC announced it was canceling Kate Plus 8 -- which began as Jon & Kate Plus 8 in 2007 before being relaunched as Kate Plus 8 in 2010 following the pair's 2009 divorce -- in August 2011.
