Jessica Simpson is suspending her Weight Watchers diet due her recently-confirmed pregnancy with her second child.

The Fashion Star mentor "will not be following the program during the pregnancy while her weight and well-being are monitored by her obstetrician, as is recommended for any woman during pregnancy," Weight Watchers announced Wednesday in a statement obtained by People.

"After she gives birth, Jessica and her doctor will decide when she may resume following the Weight Watchers program."

Simpson began a reported $4 million endorsement deal with Weight Watchers after giving birth to Maxwell Drew, her first child with fiance Eric Johnson, on May 1. It resulted in her dropping 70 pounds before her weight-loss was unexpectedly derailed by the new pregnancy.

After the organization tweeted Simpson, "What an amazing year you've had!" on Tuesday, they released a new TV advertisement the following day featuring the 32-year-old reality TV star making the official announcement that she is expecting another child only seven months after Maxwell was born.

"This year is all about new beginnings for me. I lost over 50 pounds on Weight Watchers and did not have to be perfect to do it. Being healthy has become a part of who I am, which is great timing because I'm having another baby," Simpson said in the ad. "I feel like I'm on top of the world!"

In addition to the video, Weight Watchers' senior vice president of marketing Cheryl Callan also released a statement on Wednesday congratulating Simpson on her progress thus far with the program.

"We've seen first-hand that Jessica has a refreshed outlook on food, activity and the importance of developing healthy habits, which we hope will guide her through this next pregnancy and beyond," said Callan. "She has come a long way and we know her story and success will continue to inspire others."

Simpson, who previously starred in VH1's The Price of Beauty and MTV's Newlyweds reality series, indirectly confirmed she is pregnant again in a Christmas Day tweet in which she posted a holiday photo of Maxwell sitting in the sand with "BIG SIS" written in the sand in front of her.

"Merry Christmas from my family to yours," Simpson wrote.

Reports that Simpson was expecting another baby had first surfaced last month.

"It definitely wasn't planned," a source told Us Weekly of the pregnancy in November.
