Jennifer Lopez will apparently offer her expertise to talent hopefuls on American Idol once again.

The singer will be returning to Idol's judging panel for the reality singing competition's upcoming thirteenth season, according to boyfriend Casper Smart.

"Yes," Smart told E! News when asked whether Lopez will serve as a judge next season after being absent from the show's most recent twelfth edition to take time to focus on her music career.

Smart seemed to falsely assume Fox had already made the announcement of Lopez's Idol participation and therefore accidentally disclosed the news while discussing his new show entitled A Step Away on nuvoTV.

Reports that Lopez, who served as a judge on Idol's tenth and eleventh seasons, was "very close" to signing a deal to return to American Idol emerged earlier this month.

"Both Fox and Jennifer are very happy about this and want it to happen very much," a source close to Lopez told People at the time.

Fox Entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly simultaneously had also confirmed the network had been in talks with Lopez as part of his announcement Keith Urban will be coming back as a judge.

Urban will be continuing his stint on American Idol after appearing as a newbie judge last season alongside Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and veteran judge Randy Jackson -- all of whom won't be returning to the show.

Besides Urban, Reilly had stressed no other deals were in place yet.
