Jamie Otis has sadly suffered a miscarriage with husband Doug Hehner's baby.

Otis, who starred on Married at First Sight with Hehner, announced the unfortunate news in an Instagram post on Wednesday, just one week after revealing she was pregnant and expecting her first child.

"Our Baby Hehner was just too beautiful for earth. I love him so much -- ALWAYS will -- and can't wait to meet him in heaven one day. Please pray for us," the 30-year-old nurse captioned the image, which featured the following quote: "An angel opened up the book of life and wrote down my babies birth. Then she whispered as she closed the book, 'He's too beautiful for earth.'"

Otis hinted something was wrong when she took to Twitter around 4AM on Wednesday morning, writing, "Please pray for Doug, me, and our baby Hehner."

Otis, who was also a contestant on Bachelor Pad 3 and Ben Flajnik's season of The Bachelor, announced she and Hehner had their first baby on the way during an early July appearance on the Today show. The baby was due in December 2016.

"Being a mom has been my dream... We couldn't be happier," Otis told People shortly afterwards.

"It feels like we're just now truly starting our lives together," Hehner added. "It's the icing on the cake for us to be starting our family and we're absolutely over the moon... We can't wait to lay eyes on this little miracle of ours!"

The couple met on the day of their wedding and didn't even know each other's names prior to Otis walking down the aisle. Although Otis initially found Hehner unattractive, their love grew over time and they turned out to be a Married at First Sight success story.

Since saying, "I do," Otis and Hehner's life has been documented on the spinoff show Married at First Sight: The First Year.

During the April 26 episode, both individuals gushed about wanting to have a baby, and Hehner let his sense of humor shine.

"I can imagine it now, a little Douglas Hehner coming out with moles all over his face," Hehner joked. "I got to admit -- it did get me a little excited. It does make me wonder what your baby is going to look like."

In addition to her stints on reality TV, Otis also recently released a memoir called Wifey 101: Everything I Got Wrong After Finding Mr. Right.
