Apple TV announced it will be home to the upcoming eight-episode series "Safe Houses," which will be run and produced Emmy Award winner Gideon Raff.
According to Apple, Safe Houses is a "fast-paced international espionage thriller set in the aftermath of the killing of a high-ranking CIA officer in Madrid."
The series will follow a fugitive agent who is accused of the crime and the CIA officer's widow, who is an ambassador, as they investigate the murder from opposite sides and uncover a conspiracy that could roil world politics, Apple said in a press release.
Safe Houses is a co-production between the global independent studio wiip and Apple Studios.
The first block of episodes will be helmed by Peaky Blinders' Otto Bathurst, and will see Raff direct several of the episodes as well.Raff will executive produce the series with Alexandra Milchan, while Paul Lee and David Flynn will executive produce for wiip.
Mike Seid, who worked with Raff to develop the show, will be a co-executive producer alongside co-executive producer Adam Berkowitz.
