The View creator/executive producer and co-host Barbara Walters has announced that former Survivor: The Australian Outback Final 4 finalist Elisabeth Hasselbeck is one of the final three contenders vying for the co-hosting position vacated by former co-host Lisa Ling last December.

Hasselback, who was unmarried and known as Elisabeth Filarski when she appeared on the second Survivor edition in Spring 2001, is the current host of the Style Network's The Look for Less program, a position she's held since Fall 2001. Considered the last true "Survivor sweetheart" by many fans, Hasselback married her college boyfriend, former Boston College quarterback Tim Hasselbeck, in Summer 2002.

A native of Cranston, Rhode Island, Hasselbeck currently divides her time between Brookline, Massachusetts, and Los Angeles, California. Previous to her Survivor appearance she was employed as only female footwear designer for Puma North America, where she was given the chance to design for supermodel Christy Turlington's NUALA yoga footwear line. In addition to her Puma work, Hasselbeck has been working for the past five years on a line of greeting cards, bags, planners and shoes. Her husband Tim is currently a backup quarterback for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League.

The other two co-host position finalists are former Real World: San Francisco participant Rachel Campos and actress Erin Hershey Presley, formally of ABC's Port Charles daytime soap. Barbara Walters will name the new co-host live during the Monday, November 24.telecast of The View

Since its launch, The View has received 16 Daytime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Talk Show. The show has received numerous nominations, including six consecutive nominations for Outstanding Daytime Talk Show and Outstanding Talk Show Host. Now in its seventh season, it's seen live Monday-Friday (11 AM-12 NOON, ET), on ABC.

The View is produced by ABC Daytime and Ms. Walters' Barwall Productions, with Ms. Walters serving as executive producer along with Bill Geddie.
