The 36-year-old Knoxville, TN-native and former Jackass star -- whose real name is Philip John Clapp -- filed for divorce from his wife of 12 years on Tuesday, Melanie Lynn Clapp, according to People.  Knoxville, who reportedly cited "irreconcilable differences" in his Los Angeles Superior Court divorce filing, had originally separated from his wife last July.

Clapp wed Knoxville in May 1995 and the couple has one child together, their 11-year-old daughter Madison, whose name is tattooed on the prankster's chest.

Knoxville is seeking joint legal and physical custody of Madison, according to People, which added he has offered to pay an "unspecified amount" of spousal support.

Since Jackass, Knoxville has gone on to star in several Hollywood films, including The Dukes of Hazzard, Daltry Calhoun, and The Ringer.
