Former "American Idol" rivals Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken are set to battle again when their new albums arrive in U.S. stores this fall.

Second season champion Studdard will release "The Return," his third major release, one week after former runner-up Aiken launches his album "A Thousand Different Ways" on Sept. 19, E! Online reported.

"This is an album of love songs, but they are about all different kinds of love. Romantic love, friendship, unconditional love," Aiken said of his album. "There are 1,000 different kinds of love; 1,000 different ways to tell someone you love them."

The two singers had previously continued their "Idol" competition with the 2003 release of Aiken's double-platinum album "Measure of a Man" and Studdard's Grammy-nominated offering "Soulful."

While each singer released an album in 2004, their offerings were hardly mainstream -- with Aiken offering a collection of holiday classics and Studdard releasing a gospel album entitled "I Need An Angel."
