Julia Hudson issued the public plea for information about Julian King, 7, in the wake of Friday's slayings of her mother, Darnell Donerson and brother, Jason Hudson, the Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune reported Sunday.

"I don't care who you are, just let my baby go," the grieving mother said Saturday. "Please, I just want my son."

Hudson said she remains hopeful her child is safe.

"I have to believe that he's OK," Hudson said. "I have that hope that he's OK, I have that faith that he's OK."

CNN said Julia Hudson's husband, William Balfour, has been taken into custody in relation to the shootings and his stepson's disappearance.

Balfour's mother, Michele Davis-Balfour, denied her son had any involvement in the deadly shootings, CNN said.

"Out of no means did my son do this. This heinous crime to this family is unbelievable. It's unbearable," she said.
