The Medical Examiner's Office in Broward County, Fla., says an autopsy will be conducted Friday to determine the cause of Anna Nicole Smith's death.

Smith, a reality TV star and former model, died Thursday after being found unconscious in a hotel room, CNN reported Friday.

Rescuers were called to Smith's room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., by her private nurse and CPR was attempted by her body guard before police arrived.

Ron Rale, Smith's lawyer, said his client had been ill with flu-like symptoms in the days leading up to her death, which comes less than five months after the death of her 20-year-old son and the birth of her daughter.

"We are saddened and heartbroken by my sister's death. No matter what our differences have been over the years, Anna was still our blood and she will be missed terribly," Donna Hogan, Smith's sister, said Thursday.
