Actress Jennifer Grey and professional partner Derek Hough and singer Brandy Norwood and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy finished tied for first place with 57 out of 60 possible points on the judges' leaderboard during the live broadcast.

Monday night's show featured the competition's five remaining couples dancing one routine to their own choice of music and then performing a second "instant" dance, in which they learned the music selection for their previously rehearsed routine only 20 minutes prior to performing it live.

Each dance was eligible to receive up to 30 possible points from Dancing with the Stars' judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli, however the "instant" dance challenge was a special format never previously used in the show's eleven-season history.

"We have no idea how it's going to work, if it's going to work, or if you'll ever see anything like it again," host Tom Bergeron said.

Grey and Hough received 27 points for their own quickstep and a perfect 30 points for their "instant" rumba -- marking the eleventh season's first perfect score.

"This challenge brings out the best in people! This was just breathtaking again -- sensual, sexy, classy... absolutely superb... flawless," Toniolo raved after the couple's performance.

"There is nothing more beautiful to me then watching someone reclaim their power," Inaba added.

Norwood and Chmerkovskiy also had standout performances and received 29 out of 30 possible points -- including two tens from Goodman and Tonioli -- for their waltz routine and 28 points for their "instant" cha cha.

Disney Channel star Kyle Massey and partner Lacey Schwimmer finished in third place with a total of 56 points on the judges' leaderboard after receiving 27 points for their Viennese Waltz and 29 points for their "instant" jive routine, including two tens from Inaba and Tonioli.

Retired NFL quarterback Kurt Warner and partner Anna Trebunskaya received 24 points from the judges during the initial individual performance round. However, they earned 24 additional points during the "instant" dance round for their cha cha -- which, when combined with the 24 points they received from their waltz, left them in fourth place on the judges' leaderboard with a total of 48 points.

Teen mom Bristol Palin and partner Mark Ballas finished in fifth and last place after they earned 24 points for their Argentine tango performance and only 23 points from the judges for their "instant" samba, leaving them with 47 total points.

The judges' scoring and home viewer votes that were cast after Monday night's performances will now be combined and one of the five celebrity and professional pairings will be eliminated on Dancing with the Stars' eighth eleventh-season results show tonight at 9PM ET/PT.
