"Havana" singer Camila Cabello honored her grandmother, Mercedes Rodriguez, at the 4th annual Dia de Muertos gala Thursday.

The event, presented by Mexican-American photographer Carlos Eric Lopez, "celebrated the Latinos who built this city's dreams frame by frame," an official description reads.

"Because our culture isn't just part of Hollywood's story, it is the story," an Instagram post promoting the event reads.

Cabello acknowledged Rodriguez with the Abuelita Award.

"We are honored to recognize Mercedes Rodriguez with this year's Abuelita Award," Lopez previously said, per The Hollywood Reporter. "Our grandmothers are the heart of our families, the storytellers, the caretakers and the keepers of our traditions."
