Teyana Taylor and Tate McRae were among the stars to step out at the TIME100 Next gala Thursday.
The pop singer and dancer sported a beige dress with glittering accents, and wore her hair in loose waves. She sang acoustic versions of "Tit for Tate" and "Revolving Door."
"Getting to know Tate has been a special experience for me," actress Dakota Johnson previously said in a tribute. "...My favorite moments, though, are when I catch a glimpse of the precious young girl whose dreams are manifesting before her eyes -- this year, So Close to What became her first album to debut at number 1 -- and whose hard work and discipline are paying off. The young woman who is alive and excited and has universes of talent pulsing through her veins."
"Then she is on stage, and she is a force," Johnson continued. "She is high voltage. She is wild yet precise. Tate is magnetic. I can't wait to watch her artistry unfold and evolve while she sinks further into the DNA of pop music."
Taylor, meanwhile, wore an open black jacket and stockings."Teyana moves through the world as an artist in every sense," said Regina King of the artist honoree. "Whether she's dancing, directing, singing, creating or simply speaking, there is a depth and honesty that radiates from her. Her work reaches people because it is rooted in truth. You feel it, you recognize yourself in it, and you want to move with her. When Teyana takes the stage, she doesn't just perform. She ignites!"
Lainey Wilson, Brandon Sorbom, Tramell Tillman, Emi Mahmoud Wilson, Jonathan Bailey and Becky G were among the honorees to give toasts during the event.
