Jade and Tanner recently took to Instagram and revealed that they "let go" of the 10 acres of land they had bought in Kansas City last year and will no longer be building their "dream" home on the parcel.

"Life update: sometimes things don't go the way you planned... and that's okay," Jade captioned a family photo in which she was holding hands on the land with Tanner and their three children.

Jade tagged Tanner in her post and continued, "We've made the tough decision to let go of our land and the home we were planning to build."

Jade called the Bachelor in Paradise couple's big decision "bittersweet."

"So much heart went into that dream -- but we're choosing to trust that this is making space for something even better," Jade shared.

"We're moving forward with hope, open hearts, and faith that what's meant for us is still out there. Thanks for being on this journey with us -- more to come soon. Now it's time to go find that forever home!"

Tanner commented, "Goodbye land," along with a waving-hand emoji.

On Tuesday, April 15, Jade conducted a Q&A session via Instagram Stories and was asked why she and Tanner backed out of their house build, which they had called "a dream come true" in November 2024.

"There's not really a story to tell, it was just along the way we both kept having an intuitive feeling we weren't meant to be there, but neither of us were expressing it to each other," Jade wrote to her followers.

"We were just keeping on course with the plan, because we truly loved the land and loved the house we were planning to build. But once we both expressed how we were feeling, we knew it was sort of a sign?"

Jade reiterated how it's been a "bittersweet" to change course.

"But we know we are making the right decision for our family! The land out there is special, and I know it's going to make another family happy, so I am at peace about it," The Bachelor alum concluded.

Jade announced she and Tanner -- who previously lived in Orange County, CA, for years -- had purchased 10 acres of land late last year in an Instagram post.

"We bought 10 acres!! This is a dream come true for me! I grew up in the country and have so many fond memories of my childhood playing outside in nature and exploring with my brothers," Jade wrote in November 2024.

"Can't wait to give our kids this kind of childhood. We're so excited for this journey to build our dream home and to take you along with us."

She added, "Now the question is, do we get chickens!? I know we are serial movers, but this is THE ONE!"

Jade and Tanner, who got engaged on Season 2 of Bachelor in Paradise and have been married for nine years, are proud parents of Emerson "Emmy" Avery, Brooks Easton, and Reed Harrison.

Emmy turns eight in August 2025, Brooks Easton turns six in August of this year, and four-year-old Reed Harrison was born in November 2020.

A fan asked Jade in Summer 2022 how she and her husband kept the spark alive in their marriage after so many years together.

"Communicate, communicate, communicate," Jade replied during an Instagram Q&A session.

One follower complimented Jade on being "in tune" with her three children, which prompted Jade to gush, "I'm just grateful I get to feel their sunshine and watch them grow into who they are meant to be."

Back in Fall 2021, Jade and Tanner admitted they needed to schedule intimacy in their marriage because their lives were so busy with three kids running around.

"Life is crazy and sometimes it just needs to be scheduled," Jade explained, "because it's important to us to keep that connection and sometimes it only happens that way."

But she added, "Tip: keep it flexible to be sensitive to each other's feelings and needs, too though."

Jade also shared how she and Tanner liked to go out to dinner or a movie once in a while.

"I believe in the notion of 'keep dating' your spouse, and we try our best to keep it a priority," Jade shared at the time.

Jade and Tanner fell in love and got engaged on the Season 2 finale of Bachelor in Paradise in 2015, and they got married in January 2016 for a televised special on ABC.

After Jade and Tanner tied the knot, they later appeared on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars that same year.

The pair initially lived in the Kansas City and built a home there before relocating to California. After spending years in California, Jade wanted to move back to Kansas City to be closer to her family in Nebraska.

Jade initially competed for Chris Soules' heart on The Bachelor's nineteenth season, while Tanner first appeared on Kaitlyn Bristowe's edition of The Bachelorette, which was Season 11 of the series.
