Following its debut, NBC will air 90-minute American Gladiators' second-season broadcasts in its regular Mondays at 8PM ET/PT time slot beginning May 19.

NBC had renewed American Gladiators for a second season in January.  Last month, the network announced it would air prior to the network's coverage of this summer's 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing.

American Gladiators first-season champs Evan Dollard and Monica Carlson received the opportunity to become professional gladiators for the show's second season as part of the grand prize package they received.  New second-season events and professional gladiators will be announced later this spring.

In addition, NBC and American Gladiators' MGM Television and Reveille production companies have organized a nationwide American Idol-like casting tour to find the next batch of amateurs who will compete on the show's second installment.

American Gladiators averaged 9.9 million total viewers and a 4.2/11 rating/share in the Adults 18-49 demographic throughout its first-season broadcast run, making it the No. 1 new series on the NBC schedule this season.

American Gladiators is one of six reality shows NBC is planning to air this summer.  In addition to American Gladiators' second-season premiere, the network has also announced that Last Comic Standing's sixth season will premiere Thursday, May 22 at 9:30PM ET/PT; Nashville Star's sixth season will debut Monday, June 9 at 9:30PM ET/PT; Celebrity Circus will premiere Wednesday, June 11 at 9PM ET/PT; America's Got Talent's third season will premiere Tuesday, June 24 at 9PM ET/PT; and The Baby Borrowers will debut Wednesday, June 25 at 8PM ET/PT.
