Alice and Gremlins actress Polly Holliday has died at her Manhattan home the age of 88.

Her friend and agent Dennis Aspland confirmed the news to The New York Times and USA Today on Wednesday.

The Golden Globe-winning Alabama native's other credits include the Broadway productions of All Over Town, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Arsenic and Old Lace and Marco Polo Sings Solo.

She also appeared in the films All the President's Men, Mrs. Doubtfire and The Parent Trap.
