A motorcycle tour that took Ewan McGregor to Mongolia put the "Star Wars" actor on the humanitarian path.

McGregor was so moved by ae shivering, abandoned infant in Ulan Bator that he decided to pay for the housing, food, schooling and medical care for infant Jamiyantsetseg until she reaches age 16, hellomagazine.com reported.

The "Star Wars" actor crossed the child's path during a London-to-New York motorcycle trip with fellow actor Charley Boorman. They have since documented the more than three-month adventure in a book, "Long Way Round."

The 33-year-old McGregpr has since become a UNICEF ambassador.
