The American Idol fourth season champ's "Cowboy Casanova" is a first-round finalist in the Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year categories, while her performance of "Temporary Home: landed an early nod for Performance of the Year.

Underwood has previously claimed four CMT Music Awards for Breakthrough Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year in 2006 for "Jesus, Take the Wheel," and Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year in 2007 for "Before He Cheats."

Underwood will face Lambert in the Video of the Year and Female Video of the ear categories, as the former Nashville Star first-season finalist's "White Liar" receive early nods. While Lambert has received four CMT Music Award nominations since 2006, she's yet to win.

Former American Idol fifth-season finalist Kellie Pickler's "Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You" also received an early nod in the Female Video of the Year category. Her performance of "Best Days of My Life" featuring Taylor Swift also received an early nod in the Collaborative Video of the Year category.

Pickler collected three CMT Music Awards in 2008, as "I Wonder" took home Breakthrough Video of the Year, Tearjerker Video of the Year and Performance of the Year honors.

In addition, Nashville Star sixth-season winner Chris Young received his first CMT Music Awards recognition, as he received an early nod in the Breakthrough Video of the Year category.

Beginning this week, fans can vote for their favorites in the Video of the Year, Male Video of the Year, Female Video of the Year, Group Video of the Year, Duo Video of the Year, Breakthrough Video of the Year, Collaborative Video of the Year, CMT Performance of the Year, and Video Director of the Year categories to determine the final nominees.

First-round voting will end May 3, with the finalists in each category -- excluding Video of the Year -- being revealed on May 11. Voting for Video of the Year will continue through June 8 and will be revealed at the beginning of CMT's ninth-annual awards show, which will air live on Wednesday, June 9.

Fans can vote via CMT's website or text messaging.
