Tori Spelling's dog Mimi LaRue -- the namesake of Tori & Dean: Inn Love's Chateau LaRue bed and breakfast -- has died at the age of 11.

"She was a star and a true lady, and she will be missed greatly," Spelling told People in a Wednesday report. "People everywhere knew her by name. I loved when fans wanted her over me. I felt proud!"

The posh pooch died at home surrounded by Spelling, her husband Dean McDermott, their 1-year-old son Liam and 10-day-old daughter Stella, according to People.

"I'm convinced she waited around to make sure I had the daughter I always dreamt about before she left us," Spelling told People.

LaRue -- who was 77-years-old in dog years -- suffered from medical problems related to both her hips and neck, Spelling told People, adding she was still "devastated" by her beloved dog's passing.

"She was not just a dog but a fashion icon and legend amongst Hollywood dogs," Spelling told People. "She received fan e-mail on a regular basis, and I often joked she got sent more designer clothes than me!"

LaRue made frequent appearances on Tori & Dean: Inn Love's first two seasons, where she was the resident dog at the couple's Chateau La Rue bed-and-breakfast in Fallbrook, CA.  She's also featured in the Oxygen reality show's third season -- Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood -- which premiered this week.

"She was a loving pet and a true diva to the end," Spelling told People.
