The Real World/Road Rules Challenge and The Challenge host was injured while attempting to qualify at the Dew Tour Championships in Las Vegas on Thursday night, E! News reported Friday.
The 33-year-old -- who has been a professional BMX dirt rider for over a decade -- was thrown from his bike and knocked unconscious while attempting a "nac nac combination" during a qualifying race, according to ESPN.
Lavin was reportedly rushed to the trauma center of the University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where he was diagnosed with a broken wrist and several broken ribs and put into the coma to reduce brain swelling.
Lavin has hosted MTV's Real World/Road Rules Challenge and The Challenge series since The Gauntlet 2, the eleventh edition, aired in 2005. The Challenge: Cutthroat, the twentieth edition, premiered on MTV last week and was filmed in the Czech Republic earlier this year.
