Tidal announces hurricane relief concert in Brooklyn
UPI News Service, 09/22/2017
Jay-Z's music streaming service Tidal has announced their third annual Tidal X: Brooklyn concert that will help raise money this year for hurricane relief.
The benefit concert, which will take place Oct. 17 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, will benefit those affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, which have affected parts of Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico.
Pre-sale tickets are now on sale for Tidal customers and will become available to the general public on Tuesday starting at 12 p.m. ET, Variety reported.
The event hosted by radio personality Angie Martinez has no official lineup, though Us Weekly has reported that Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce would be headlining. A representative for Beyonce stold Rolling Stone that reports of the pop star appearing at the concert are false.
A rep for Jay-Z declined to comment on whether or not Jay-Z will be performing at the benefit.
This year, Tidal will be donating funds to organizations such as Global Giving, All Hands Volunteers, Kids in Need Foundation, Direct Relief, One America Appeal, Greater Houston Community Foundation, American Civil Liberties Union and Miami Community Foundation.
