Adam Levine apparently isn't sure what a "douchebag" is, but he's not ruling out the idea he might be one.

"Okay. Let's get into this: What are the characteristics of a douchebag? Let's define this. A douchebag is a really specific thing," the 35-year-old The Voice coach told GQ in a recent interview.

"Would it be really easy to assume that I was a douchebag? Definitely. One hundred percent. But that doesn't mean that I am, or maybe I am, I don't know."

Levine, Maroon 5's frontman, brought up the term when discussing his role in Begin Again, a new movie musical in which he plays an ambitious indie musician who eventually gets wrapped up in fame and fortune.

Levine -- who also has a fragrance, clothing line at Kmart and numerous endorsement deals -- has been dubbed a "douchebag" on an incredible amount of social media accounts and online websites.

While the GQ reporter got the vibe the reality TV star is "delightful, witty and polite" during the interview, Levine gets labeled a "douchebag" for reasons such as he dyes his hair blonde, creates catchy pop music, admits he loves to be naked and have sex, and loves attention -- as long as it's on his own terms.

"Okay, so I'm gonna get really intricately self-reflective right now and ask myself the hard questions, to find out, once and for all, definitively, whether or not I'm a douchebag," Levine told the magazine.

The Voice coach, who got engaged in July of last year, also revealed the place he and his model fiancee Behati Prinsloo plan to move into is under construction. Meanwhile, he's living with a couple of his guy friends.

"These are kind of the last days of the frat house," Levine said, reminiscing costume parties, a toga party, and a big pirate party.
