Former America's Next Top Model contestant Katie Cleary has lost her husband in a tragic way.

Cleary's estranged husband Andrew Stern, 40, committed suicide by an apparent gunshot to the head in Van Nuys, CA, on Sunday, E! News reported.

Stern's decision to take his own life ironically follows media reports about Cleary, 32, being spotted flirting with famous actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Adrian Grenier in France about one month ago. Photos have since circulated of DiCaprio kissing Cleary at a nightclub.

However, Cleary is claiming she's just friends with the celebrities and her relationship with Stern had been on the rocks for a while.

"Katie and Andrew have been separated and in the process of finalizing their divorce for a few months and her relationship with Leonardo and Adrian were simply platonic as she was there to promote her animal welfare documentary Give Me Shelter," Cleary's representative told E! News.

"We respectfully request her privacy be given at this difficult time and have no more comments on this matter."

Stern had reportedly filed for divorce from the model on April 9, citing irreconcilable differences, after nearly four years of marriage. The couple never had children together.

"Andrew and Katie have been in the midst of a very amicable separation and had remained on excellent terms," a mutual friend told People. "This is devastating news for us but we have been aware of Andrew's longtime struggle with depression."

Cleary has yet to personally address Stern's death. A public memorial service will reportedly be held on June 28 in Venice, CA.

Cleary was 21-years-old when she competed on America's Next Top Model back in 2003. She was eliminated in the first season's second episode.
