Antoine Ashley, who performed in drag as Sahara Davenport and competed on the second season of Logo's RuPaul's Drag Race reality competition, has died at age 27.

Ashley's cause of death is unknown, People reported.

"Logo is profoundly saddened by the passing of Antoine Ashley who fans around the world knew and loved as Sahara Davenport. He was an amazing artist and entertainer who'll be deeply missed by his Logo family. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family, especially his boyfriend Karl, in their time of need," Logo said in a statement on its Facebook page Tuesday morning.

"Shocked & heartbroken over @SaharaDavenport. Never occurred to me that we'd ever lose one of my girls. I see them as immortal," RuPaul tweeted around the same time.

Ashley is survived by boyfriend Karl Westerberg, who competed on the third season of RuPaul's Drag Race as Manila Luzon.

"I love him so much," Westerberg tweeted Sunday night.

Ashley competed for the title of America's Next Drag Superstar against 11 other contestants during the second season of RuPaul's Drag Race in 2010 but was eliminated during the sixth episode.

He also reportedly had a single "Go Off" reach No. 35 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart earlier this year. Last December, he and Westerberg released a duet cover of "Baby It's Cold Outside."
