Report: Efforts to revive CBS' canceled 'Jericho' drama may be working

A grassroots campaign across the United States, fueled by message boards, blogs and Web sites, may be convincing CBS to cancel its cancellation of "Jericho."

CBS, bombarded with e-mails and nuts -- a reference to a catchphrase in the show -- since announcing the drama about a post-nuclear town was off the fall schedule, has been in talks to renew the series, sources told Entertainment Weekly.

A CBS spokesman declined comment.

Insiders said the network has begun considering ordering seven episodes that would air sometime in the winter or spring, the magazine reported Tuesday on its Web site. Whether a full 2008-09 season of the Skeet Ulrich vehicle would be ordered would depend on whether the show's fan base of 9.5 million improves during the 2007-08 run, the source said.
